Cabestan

Cabestan is a group of five singer-musicians who play a variety of instruments: fiddle, bagpipes, accordion, drums, guitar and bass guitar. They play and sing sea shanties and songs of the sea. Often they write their own music and tell tales of the fishermen and sailors of our own time as well as sing of those of the past. Their reputation acclaims them as masters of presenting this special music. Four of the performers are from Brittany and one is from Canada.

The Cabestan performances engage the audience. They are a group who is comfortable performing before thousands. Their enthusiasm and love of music stirs the listeners and carries the audience with them. They have played in United States, Canada, Great Britain, Italy and the Netherlands and much of their repertoire has been captured on disc. It is a great honour to have them perform for us.

Playing at the Regent Theatre on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th August.

Secure on-line ticket sales.
