One of our primary aims is to make available our collections of documents to those researching maritime history. Our collections are varied, covering sail and steam, Canada and the Great Lakes from roughly 1700 to the present day, naval subjects, the merchant marine, whaling, fishing and yachting, exploration (including the Arctic) trade and immigration, vessel design, and more.
While our reference documents are not limited to these subjects, we include a number of links to other sources. While we do not necessarily endorse any of the sites, the staff and members of this Society have found them useful. As this website develops, a number of database resources will be made available.
Our reading room is available for consulting several thousand documents in our library and archives.
